The Pied Bushchat

 The Pied Bushchat (Saxicolacaprata) is a small, striking passerine bird widely distributed across West Asia, Central Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia. It's a familiar sight in open habitats such as grasslands, scrub, and cultivated areas, often perched conspicuously on short thorn trees or shrubs. This species exhibits clear sexual dimorphism: the male is predominantly jet black with prominent white patches on its wings and lower belly, creating a stark "pied" appearance. Females, in contrast, are drab brown with a rufous (reddish-brown) rump and some pale streaking, while juveniles have a speckled look.
