Rose-ringed Parakeets Have to Constantly Defend Their Nest

The rose-ringed parakeets (Psittacula krameri), also known as the ring-necked parakeets mate and breed in January February months in Southern India. They do not have life mates and often breed with another partner during the following breeding season. During this cold season, they select and defend nest sites.

In January we find them very active finding mates and defending their nest site.
