Magnificent Emperor Dragonfly in Flight

This is the first time I captured a flying dragonfly in a satisfactory manner; that too a Magnificent emperor, or Blue darner dragonfly. photographing dragonflies in motion is a tough task. they move fast, they fly for hours together, they do not fly in the same direction, and they fly back and forth.

Today I spent more than an hour by the pond, watching it carefully. I got a hang of the movement and pause of the butterfly. Before that I set the camera to shutter speed 400, and the rest of the setting for optimal lighting. Here is the result.
