Bratonia Shelob Tolkien, also at times called as Spider Orchid, flowered in our orchid house. It has a typical spidery looking flowers: with long thin petals and an elongated broader dotted purple lip. It is a hybrid mix of Brassia and Miltonia orchids. So we have the name Bratonia.
From far the flowers look a bit dull and jungly. But come closer, this is a lovely orchid flower with distinct looking petals and bright coloured lip. Bratonia also has fragrance.
